Every Town Has A Story.

Some are just more compelling than others.

How can such a small community have spawned so many stories? It's a part of the magi and mystery of Ketchikan, a seasonal Tlingit fish camp turned border town that has welcomed intrepid pioneers since the late 1800s.

The Ketchikan story project was conceived to tell the incredible story of Alaska's First City -  from as far back as the beginning of time to the very recent past. Incorporated in 1900, Ketchikan attracted a pastiche of pioneers who came to find their fortunes, start a new life, save the lost, live off the land, and/or misbehave. Together, they built a town like no other in America. Told by old-timers local historians, and other salty characters, this Emmy Award-winning series tells the story of a true American Treasure.
