Galleries And Alaska Native Art
Ketchikan is home to a large and active community of artists inspired by the surrounding rainforest, wildlife, and the history and culture of Southeast Alaska. More than 350 local residents are registered artists, and their work can be found throughout town, from outdoor public art along the waterfront to galleries and shops downtown.
Many galleries feature Alaska Native art, including carving, weaving, jewelry, and contemporary works, alongside paintings, photography, and mixed media created by local artists. Visitors can explore galleries on foot and easily connect with the stories and traditions behind the artwork.
