Downtown Ketchikan is the historic heart of Alaska’s First City. Set along the waterfront of the Tongass Narrows, this compact area reflects the community’s past and present through preserved architecture, cultural sites, public art, and a mix of restaurants, cafés, and locally owned shops. It is here that Ketchikan’s fishing, timber, and maritime history blends in alongside everyday life.
With walkable streets and a close connection to the water, downtown offers an accessible way to experience the character and rhythm of the community.
