Taxis meet arriving airport and state ferries. Rates are $3.70 a drop and $3.30 per mile. Typical one-way fare downtown from the airport ferry landing is about $13; downtown from the state ferry terminal, about $12.
Ride-sharing programs such as Lyft are available.
Public Buses
Buses run daily in the city and to rural areas south and north of the city. Service is hourly except on Sunday. Bus fare is $2 for adults;$1 for youths 12-17; and $.50 for children 11 and younger (who ride free when accompanied by adults). A day pass is $5 for adults and $2.50 for youths 17 and younger.
A free downtown shuttle bus runs May through September.
